Make your own Sugar or Sea Salt Scrub

I'm sure we've all at one point or another gone to the store and bought some sort of fancy exfoliating sugar scrub or sea salt soak; something along those lines. Have you any idea that they are super easy to make? This seemed to be the in-thing for Christmas presents for my crafty and not-so-crafty friends. I spent an entire night with a friend, bottle of wine open, making some great scented and super moisturizing bath products.

For a sugar scrub all you really need is raw sugar, a good moisturizing oil for your skin like almond oil or coconut oil, maybe a little vitamin E (optional) and your favorite essential oil for scent. We added in a little sea salt but that's your call. The best part is blending all the ingredients in a bowl together with your hands. Your skin is going to feel so soft and so smooth you may find yourself rubbing your arms and chest in the kitchen, in a non-perverted way of course ha ha.

Origins Super Spot Remover

Over the years I've used all sorts of different over-the-counter and prescription ointments on my face for acne. Only recently have I discovered a tiny little bottle that seems to do magic. I hardly ever go to the mall but that is where you will find the Origins store and on the shelf you will find this tiny little bottle titled "super spot remover."

You don't need much; just squeeze a little bit onto a Q-tip and put it on your blemish. It speeds up the process and makes the blemish disappear in half the time it normally would. Put it on before you go to bed but not before make up application because it basically dries out your skin. You might just wake up with a clear face.

Alba Body Lotion

Alba Botancia makes a huge variety of body care products.  It started innocently; I tired their coconut milk Hawaiian coconut cream lip balm and it is amazingly smooth and addictive. Then I graduated to their body cream. They make an assortment of lotions but I wanted to see how their body cream compared to Hempz body butter, which is a current favorite. Some lotions make you feel sticky, hot, or just leaves a layer on top of your skin inside of absorbing in, and Hempz was the only thing, besides for coconut oil that worked for me for years...until now.  The Alba body cream rivals Hempz.  It's smooth and very lightweight.

I decided to try their face lotion too because my skin has changed a little and the moisturizer I used to use doesn't seem to work for me anymore. I tried Derma-e but wasn't 100% sold. I like the Alba sea moss moisturizer; I think it's good for the winter but might be a little too oily for the summer months.
