Chocolate Covered Bananas

I don't function without dessert and I had none in the house, so I looked to see what I had that I could combine. Bananas, and chocolate, so of course I made chocolate covered bananas! I had a bar of orange chocolate which seemed perfect to go with bananas, but I knew just melted chocolate would not hold together well enough, so I added a scoop of peanut butter and a small scoop of coconut oil to the chocolate and melted it in the microwave.

Lay out some wax paper and cut up your banana, and then use a big slotted spoon to coat the banana chunks and then plop on the wax paper. You may need to reheat the chocolate mixture once or twice, and you can experiment with the type of chocolate you use. I would suggest doing this with strawberries and even mango. Then pop them in the freezer and you'll get....

 Amazing frozen bite-size treats.

Sjaak's Chocolate

As a chocolate-connoisseur it is my personal duty to buy and try as many different types of chocolate that I can. My most recent purchase was a Sjaak's chocolate bar.  Sjaak's is an allergen friendly line. As stated on their website, they are a "lacto-vegetarian operation and are a gluten free facility."

The company makes a variety of products from chocolate bars, to individual chocolate bites, in an assortment of great flavors.  I'm a caramel-addict, with toffee coming in as a close second, so of course I bought the milk chocolate with creamy caramel.  This was rich and delicious and one square was quite satisfactory, which I do not say often as I tend to eat two or three pieces at a time.  While chocolate like this does have a slightly higher price point per oz than your average hersheys, etc. I find with the better quality chocolates, I eat less at a time, which makes the bar last slightly longer; instead of one afternoon, it makes it a whole day, or two. ha ha.
