Baked Veggie Chips

The Real Deal Veggie Chips are made of corn, peas, and rice; certainly not the strangest combination of ingredients I've seen on a label before. I was hoping these were bigger scoops, but they're actually tiny. Perhaps a good snack for kids, but their taste was not really palatable.

Sugar and Seaweed?

I love Annie Chun's sesame seaweed snacks. They give you the crunch without the calories of chips. They recently expanded their flavor options from sesame and wasabi to now include brown sugar and cracked pepper. Why try and expand and improve something that's already good? I guess it's a good business decision but did they do it right?

The brown sugar and sea salt one is good, but I think they over did it just a little. They were good but probably too sugary for the average consumer. The cracked pepper and herb was a little bit more disappointing. It tasted like dusty dirt. I'm not so sure on how one would improve this flavor.  For now though, I think I'll continue buying the sesame one in bulk.

Kind Healthy Snack Bars

Kind Health Snacks has done it again.  I like their bars, although because of the fruit component they are one of the higher ones when it comes to sugar. Recently Kind came out with the nut and spices line; four new flavors that only have 5 grams of sugar or less. There is Cinnamon Pecan (good), Cashew and ginger (perfect amount of ginger flavor for ginger lovers and admirers alike), Vanilla Almond (which is slightly sweet), and my favorite, the dark chocolate sea salt. Salt and chocolate is a popular combination, and they nailed the flavor on this one.

At first I thought it needed a little bit more salt, which is funny, because when I was about ten years younger, I hardly used salt on anything and my now husband would always shake a bunch of salt on everything.  He wasn't using that much really, but it seemed a lot to me. Now that I've developed a love for sea salt, I want it on everything, including my sweets but too much sodium is bad for you. Kind found the right balance before sweet and salty with this bar. The only downfall... I have to make sure not to keep this one stored in my purse during the summer months.
